The FBI is searching for a recent Army recruit believed to be planning a “Fort Hood-inspired jihad against U.S. soldiers,” FoxNews.com has learned.
The alert, whose legitimacy was confirmed by military and law enforcement officials, stated that a man identified as Booker had told friends of his “intention to commit jihad.” Booker, who is also known as Muhammad Abdullah Hassan, was recruited by the U.S. Army in Kansas City, Mo., in February 2014 and was scheduled to report for basic training on April 7. But he was discharged last week, apparently after law enforcement authorities learned of his alleged plan.
Both the FBI and the 902d Military Intelligence Group at Fort Leavenworth are involved in the hunt.

The Fort Hood shooting appears to be over, with the shooter reportedly dead of a self-inflicted wound and according to the latest CNN update, three other people dead, and as many as 14 others injured, some in critical condition. Reports of a second shooter are so far unconfirmed. CNN also reports that the name of the shooter is 34 year old Ivan Lopez. The shooting is also said to not be terrorism-related, but instead a "solider on solider" attack.
UPDATE: Fort Hood's Directorate of Emergency Services has an initial report that a shooter is dead but this is unconfirmed.
The injured personnel are being transported to Carl R. Darnall Medical Center and other local hospitals. Numerous law enforcement agencies are in support and on the scene. The number of injured are not confirmed at this time. No further details are known at this time.

I just got off the phone with the vice chairman of the joint chiefs of staff to get the latest on the shooting at Fort Hood. Obviously, we’re all following it closely. The situation is fluid right now, but my national security team in close contact not just with Defense Department but with the FBI. They are working with folks on ground to determine exactly what happened and ensure that everyone is secure. Want to assure all of us we going to get to bottom of what happened. Any shooting is troubling. Obviously this reopened pain of what happened at Fort Hood 5 years ago. We know these families, we know the service to their country and the sacrifices that they make. Obviously our thoughts and prayers are with the entire community and we are going to do everything we can to make the community of fort hood has what it needs to deal with a tough situation but also any potential aftermath. We’re heartbroken that something like this might have happened again. I don’t what on the comment on facts until we know exactly what happened. But just for now I would hope that everyone across the country keep the families of Fort Hood in our thoughts and our prayers. The folks there have sacrificed so much on behalf of our freedom. Many of the people there have been on multiple tours of Iraq and Afghanistan, they served with valor, they served with distinction. At their home base they need to feel safe. We don’t yet know what happened tonight but obviously that sense of safety has been broken once again. We need to find out exactly what happened.

Four people have been killed, including the gunman, in a shooting at Fort Hood in Texas today, according to senior U.S. officials and the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.
Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, told CNN he had been briefed on the deadly incident and said there were also 14 injuries. Authorities were concerned another shooter might be at large, but no link to terrorism has been discovered, the lawmaker said.
Before McCaul's appearance on CNN, Fort Hood's media office cited an initial report that the shooter was dead but said the report was not confirmed.
Sgt. Maj. Nicholas Connor, a spokesman for Fort Hood, told ABC News that authorities would lift a "shelter in place" order as soon as they believed it was safe to do so.
President Obama said his national security team is "working with folks on the ground to determine exactly what happened and to ensure that everyone is secure."
"The situation is fluid right now... Any shooting is troubling," the President said. "We’re heartbroken that something like this might have happened again. I don’t what on the comment on facts until we know exactly what happened. Scott and White Hospital in nearby Temple, Texas, said it activated its internal incident management system and "is receiving patients" related to the shooting.
"Unfortunately, this is something that we here at Fort Hood have experience with and this is something that is conjuring up a lot of memories of the past," Connor said. "We're just hoping we can get to the bottom of this as soon as possible."

According to a KCEN witness accounts describes the suspect as a white male with a gray Toyota.
Local news outlets are reporting that officials at Fort Hood, Texas, have confirmed an on-base shooting incident that has placed the military installation on lockdown.Local station KCEN-TV is saying that it has reports that several people have been injured, with at least one patient being taken to a hospital. VUE and KBTX andKWTX have all reported on Twitter that one person is confirmed dead. The shooter may also still be at large.
WFAA has also confirmed that an active shooter is on the base. KVUE reports that the shooting took place in a medical brigade building. The official Fort Hood Twitter account also announced that all personnel are advised to shelter in place, but offered no other details.
