Okay , let's compare the photo of Rudy Eugene and then look at Jacquineaux , Davis and De Leon - they really look like dopers while Eugene doesn't seem that way. Moreover , note the preliminary toxicology report doesn't reflect anything but pot ( compare with De Leon who had blood work done and drugs found almost immediately ! Just saying the Eugene situation seems quite odd......

MIAMI (CBS4) – Police now believe that Rudy Eugene, the so-called Miami Zombie, was not only naked, but was also carrying his bible, when he nearly beat a homeless man to death and chewed off three-quarters of his face.

A senior law enforcement official told CBS4′s Jim DeFede, Eugene’s bible was found with some of its pages ripped out at the scene of the May 26 cannibal attack that has captured worldwide attention.

The torn bible pages were found not far from the victim’s body. In interviews last week, Eugene’s mother described her son as a “church boy” who always carried his bible with him.

CBS4 News has also learned the preliminary toxicology report from Eugene’s autopsy revealed Eugene, 31, had been smoking marijuana near the time of the incident.

Investigators had hoped the initial tests might lead them to quickly identify other drugs Eugene might have taken which could have caused such psychotic behavior, but the law enforcement official said it will now be at least two months before all the lab work will be completed.

New details are also coming to light regarding the morning of the attack.

As CBS4 News was the first to report, Eugene had driven to South Beach during the early morning hours of May 26 for Urban Beach Weekend. Eugene parked his car near Tenth and Alton Road and after apparently not being able to get the car to start again decided to walk the three and a half miles over the MacArthur Causeway to downtown Miami.

Along the way he stripped off his clothes, tossing them on the road before ultimately encountering his 65-year-old victim, Ronald Poppo, who lived around and under the causeway.
According to the law enforcement source, surveillance video from a business near Tenth and Alton revealed that Eugene spent between 30 and 40 minutes around his purple Chevy festooned with Haitian flags. He can be seen getting in and out of the car during that time, as well as walking around it.
Detectives canvassed the area to see if Eugene had gone to that part of Miami Beach to visit someone, but they were unable to find anyone in the area who knew Eugene or even recall seeing him that morning.
Inside the car investigators found a Koran and five empty bottles of water. The water appeared to have been recently purchased, the law enforcement source told DeFede.

The water, and the notion that Eugene was extremely thirsty, offers investigators another clue into the possible drugs Eugene may have been taking.

For instance, people who take Ecstasy often crave water. Detectives won’t know if Eugene took Ecstasy, or some other drug, until the complete toxicology report is issued.

JUNE 6--From the Zombie Apocalypse news desk comes word of the arrest of a Louisiana man who bit off a chunk of the face of a victim whom he allegedly battered during a bloody attack Saturday.
According to cops, Carl Jacquneaux, 42, attacked Todd Credeur outside the victim’s home in Scott, a city in Lafayette Parish. After punching Credeur in the face, Jacquneaux bit the 48-year-old victim in the face, “removing a large amount of flesh,” police reported.
An arrest warrant affidavit charges that Jacquneaux “began biting Mr. Credeur in the face, removing flesh the size of a quarter below the victim’s left eye.” A second affidavit accused Jacquneaux of “biting off half his cheek” and referenced “information” that Jacquneaux “had been up for several days on Meth.”
When officers responded to the fight scene, they found Credeur covered in blood and with “several lacerations to his facial area along with a gaping wound underneath the left eye.” Credeur, who was transported to a local hospital for treatment, is now recuperating at home.
Investigators said that Credeur is the husband of Jacquneaux’s ex-wife, who was present when the attack occurred. The woman has a protective order against Jacquneaux due to “threats and violent behavior,” police note.
Pictured in the above mug shot, Jacquneaux was apparently under the influence of narcotics during the June 2 incident. However, cops would not comment on the claim by a friend of Credeur’s that Jacquneaux had been using bath salts prior to the attack. The hallucinogenic stimulant has been linked to a savage attack last month in Florida that ended with a cannibalistic assailant being shot to death by police.
Jacquneaux, who is being held in the Lafayette Parish jail in lieu of $312,500 bond, is facing an assortment of criminal charges, including aggravated battery, violating a protective order, and burglary. (3 pages)

A woman accused of stealing a wig from a beauty shop in New Haven is also accused of biting the store owner as well as the police officers who arrested her.
Police said Lowpel Davis, 38, of New Haven, stole a wig from the Sassy Beauty Supply shop at 800 Chapel Street on Tuesday afternoon.
The shop owner told police he saw Davis come into his store with a juvenile girl and then noticed that a wig was missing from a mannequin.
He went through surveillance system and saw Davis take the wig and hide it, as well as several other items, in her bag, so he told staff to keep Davis from leaving the shop, police said.
It didn't work and Davis fled with the girl, according to police.
The store owner and his 70-year-old father pursued her, police said, and Davis fought back.
Police said she punched both men in the face and the bit the store owner’s bicep, taking a chunk of flesh from his arm and then spit it in his face, police said.
When police responded around 3:30 p.m. Davis was “crazed,” in front of the Giaimo Federal Building at 150 Court St., struggled with four federal protective service officers and kicked and swore at New Haven police, police said.
When officers handcuffed Davis, she tried to kick out the window of a police car and was eventually transferred to a windowless prisoner transportation van.

Officers were taken to area hospitals to be evaluated for bites and other injuries sustained during the struggle.
The store owner was taken by ambulance to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he received treatment for his bite wound and facial injury.
Davis was charged with sixth-degree larceny, breach of peace in the second degree, criminal mischief in the first degree, assault in the second degree and two counts of assault on police officers.
She appeared in court on Wednesday. Her bond was set at $150,000 and the case was continued to July 11. Here is also a pending case against her because of a failure to appear charge.

MIAMI (CBS Tampa) – If imitation is the highest form of flattery, then Rudy Eugene, the Miami cannibal who chewed off a homeless man’s face while reportedly high on bath salts, has an admirer in his own neighborhood.
Brandon De Leon, 21, was arrested Saturday after getting into a fight at a local Boston Market and resisting arrest, but his threats of wanting to eat a Miami police officer followed by his attempt to bite the officer have raised more concern following the recent act of cannibalism in the Miami area that has made international headlines.
CBS News reports that North Miami Beach Police spotted De Leon arguing with Brian Yerdon, 33, outside a Boston Market on Saturday. The verbal fight reportedly blocked the entrance so no customers could enter or exit, according to police. WTVJ-TV reports that when police tried to break up the fight, De Leon gave them the middle finger, saying, “F— you,” in the process, according to police. De Leon and Yerdon were arrested at the scene, though De Leon was reportedly physically resisting arrest. When he was finally detained by police, De Leon would repeatedly bang his head against the Plexiglas in the police car, yelling, “I’m going to eat you,” at a police officer, according to police reports. Media reports indicate that De Leon’s actions reached a level that police deemed it necessary to place the 21-year-old in a bite mask and leg restraints.
Upon being arrested, police would find De Leon to be in possession of rum and a Four Loko. When he was transferred to the hospital for blood testing, it was discovered that De Leon was under the influence of “Cloud 9,” a type of bath salts. CBS News reports that his blood test also showed levels of Xanax and cannabis. The Daily Mail reports that De Leon’s blood-alcohol level was 0.29.
“I have no recollection of anything that happened that night,” De Leon said at his bond hearing Monday, according to CBS News.
