A #Fukushima Woman Asks NISA Experts, "Are You Man Enough to Protect Women and Children?"

Tokyo Brown Tabby managed to set up another Youtube channel (here), and here's part of the description of the video Tabby sent me:
On January 18, 2012, Japan's Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (NISA) held a hearing to discuss with a committee of experts the results of the "stress test" for judging whether to restart Kansai Electric's Ooi Nuclear Power Plant. The hearing was supposed to be open to public, but at the last minute NISA decided to hold the meeting in a separate room without the audience. The angry audience, who were locked out in a room with a TV monitor, eventually rushed into the meeting room and made a protest.

In the middle of the confusion, an unidentified woman from Fukushima came out of the audience. This video clip shows part of the protest from the audience and the woman's poignant words.

The original video was taken by independent net-based OurPlanet-TV, so I hope there will be no worries about "copyright infringement" this time.

Tabby says "poignant". I'd say "strong". Because this slight, demure-looking woman from Fukushima is challenging the experts in front of her, asking, essentially, "Are you man enough to protect women and children?" No one answered her of course, they tried their best as if nothing was happening. Obviously, they were not man enough.
Almost identical words uttered by a young Egyptian woman may well have triggered the revolution in Egypt in January 2011, when she said "I am going to Tahrir Square on January 25. If you think yourself a man, come with me. Have some honor and manhood and come with me on January 25." We knew right afterwards that there were a lot of Egyptian men who were man enough to do that and much more.

Fukushima worker “The warranty period of the parts for coolant system is 1 year.”

The actual Fukushima worker Happy11311 warned about the reliability of the coolant system of Fukushima on Twitter.

The day before yesterday, the terminal part of the pump motor got short circuit, but actually troubles of the system and monitoring control are happening often. It may be because of the dust or high radiation level but the bottom line is many of these are improvised preparation made of roughly collected parts from all over Japan.

They didn’t even consider maintenance to build the equipment. Tepco was in a hurry, they only made it last for one year. The parts are not particularly for nuclear plants, they are for general usage. The parts will need to be replaced from now otherwise troubles will keep happening though I think Tepco won’t change it until it gets disordered.

TEPCO Measures Water Levels in Torus Rooms in Reactors 2 and 3 at #Fukushima I Nuke Plant

TEPCO sent carbon-based workers down to the Torus Rooms of Reactors 2 and 3 on June 6 to measure the water levels. No information about how long the work took, but the maximum radiation exposure for the workers was 6.49 millisieverts for going into both Reactors 2 and 3. No information about how many workers (or whose workers) TEPCO sent in. Probably the company sent in its own employees because of the high levels of radiation.

The last time the workers went near the Torus Rooms of Reactors 2 and 3 was onMarch 14, 2012. Six TEPCO workers spent total of 28 minutes in the reactor buildings with the radiation levels in the basements (where the Torus Rooms are located) that ranged from 15 to 160 millisieverts/hour (inside the Reactor 2 Torus Room). At that time, they couldn't enter the Reactor 3 Torus Room because the door was bent. Judging by the radiation levels in front of the Reactor 3 Torus Room door that were more than twice as high as those of the Reactor 2 Torus Room, we can guess the levels inside the Reactor 3 Torus Room were much, much higher:

The water levels in "O.P" (Onahama Peil) are indicated in the first slide below, but if the mid point of the torus is OP1900 and the water levels measured are about OP3000 (as per the last slide), and the mid basement level is OP4000, the picture is not exactly to the scale.

Nausea and headache of Fukushima children increased from 6% to 38%. Gov “It’s stress.”

Fukushima university conducted “stress” research for 2743 people this January 2012. Valid responses were 2103 (77%).
The result revealed that the increase of depression, impatience, and concentration difficulty of elementary school students from their last research of June / July 2011.
Especially the ratio of frequent/occasional headache and nausea increased from 6% to 38%.

↓ Obvious increase of headache and nausea among elementary school students.
Nausea and headache of Fukushima children increased from 6% to 38%. Gov "It's stress.""
Other ratio is not reported.
Prof. Tsutsui from the researching team states, this persistant and continuous stress is physically affecting the children.
However, the ratio of fear, anxiety, regression, dependence decreased.

Parents are showing their mental change as well.
↓ The ratio of feeling impatient increased from 18% to 25%.
Nausea and headache of Fukushima children increased from 6% to 38%. Gov "It's stress.""2
At the same time, parents are becoming less cautious about exposure control of their children.
↓ The ratio of parents who don’t let their children play outside decreased from 67% to 54%.
Nausea and headache of Fukushima children increased from 6% to 38%. Gov "It's stress.""3

↓ The ratio of parents who don’t hang clothes outside decreased from 60% to 50%.
Nausea and headache of Fukushima children increased from 6% to 38%. Gov "It's stress.""4
Nausea and headache of Fukushima children increased from 6% to 38%. Gov "It's stress."5

However, 95% of parents care about the origin of food.
Nausea and headache of Fukushima children increased from 6% to 38%. Gov "It's stress."6

84% of parents care about the origin of drink.
Nausea and headache of Fukushima children increased from 6% to 38%. Gov "It's stress."7
Prof. Tsutsui comments, decontamination will alleviate their long-lasting “stress”, but no scientific evidence to prove the connection between stress and decontamination was shown.
