On 9/11/2013, Tepco released the radiation analysis data of the boring core of where they detected 4,200,000 Bq/m3 Tritium.
Their data shows β & γ ray was detected in 4m deep underground. The dose was 0.01 mSv/h.
The highest reading was 0.09 mSv/h detected from 2~3m deep underground.
It’s not verified if it’s due to the 300m3 leakage in the tank area, however, it was confirmed that the severe contamination is penetrating deep underground.
64,000,000 Bq/m3 Tritium in groundwater besides leaked tank / 15 times much as 2 days before

According to Tepco, Tritium density is rising in the North side of the tank that experienced 300m3 leakage.
It was 4,200,000 Bq/m3 on 9/8/2013. It increased to be 29,000,000 Bq/m3 on 9/9/2013 and it became 64,000,000 Bq/m3 on 9/10/2013.
This is 15 times much as 2 days before.
The reason is not verified yet but the contamination in groundwater is getting serious increasingly.
9,500,000 Bq/m3 of all β near Reactor1 turbine building / Not direct leakage of coolant water ?

According to Tepco, significantly high level of all β nuclides (including Strontium-90) was measured from the groundwater nearby reactor1 turbine building. The sampling location is in the seaside of the building.
The reading was 9,500,000 Bq/m3. However, Tepco still hasn’t admitted the possibility that the coolant water is directly leaking from reactor1 turbine building and this high level of contamination is due to the water to have touched the molten fuel.
Fukushima worker “「Rainwater」doesn’t disappear from tank areas”

Having 300m3 of contaminated water leaked, Tepco dammed the leaked tank area so the contaminated water doesn’t spread.
However the Fukushima worker Happy11311 commented on Twitter that “rainwater” does disappear from the dammed area even though 2 days have passed since last rain.
Tepco states no leakage is on-going at this moment.

・・・Apart from the tank area that experienced 300m3 leakage, from my looking, all the tank areas had so much retained water within the dam because it rained heavily last Saturday. It can retain water because the valve of dam is turned off now, but I wonder why the rainwater still remains there though 2 days have already passed.

1,800,000 Bq/m3 of Tritium beside reactor4 / Facing the sea outside of plant port

According to Tepco, they also measured high level of Tritium in the observation boring beside reactor4 turbine building.
The reading was 1,800,000 Bq/m3. The sampling location was the South East side of reactor4 turbine building.
Because reactor4 vessel is empty, they don’t give coolant water to reactor4.
The detected Tritium may be from the contaminated groundwater coming from other reactors, however, the sampling boring is facing the sea outside of the plant port. The detected Tritium is highly likely to be flowing to the sea.
Leaked tank contamination data been masked even after “the cleaning” since IOC selected Tokyo for 2020 Olympic host

Following up this article..Tepco masked the radiation data of around 300m3 leaked tank one day before IOC selected Tokyo for 2020 Olympic [URL]
In the press conference of 9/9/2013, Tepco commented they finished cleaning the drain on 9/7/2013. However, the contamination data of the drain was masked after the “cleaning”.
At this moment of 9/12/2013, the latest data of 9/11/2013 is still masked for some reason.
If they finished cleaning the drain, there is no reason why they can’t disclose the contamination data.

IRID To Take Over Fukushima Decommissioning Research
The International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID) has quietly taken over the research and development role at Fukushima Daiichi. The institute was being discussed months ago by workers from the plant. There was also a rumor they may build a mock reactor to test out ideas but that has not been confirmed. IRID appears to be a mash up of the nuclear village in Japan to try to solve the problem of how to … Read entire article »
Hi Fred, The PM smackdown was dramatic, makes me think there is something coming and they want prices down to a lower starting level.
ReplyDeleteLibya will never be the same sadly.
Still more smackdown of the PM's, I wonder if the demand for physical will slack off this time. Somehow I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteBitcoin in the 140's, they must not have enough of those to smack them down this time :) Famous last words I'm sure.
Assad's response/demands to O's speech seemed a little cocky, hopefully he's not running off at the mouth without Putin's input. Not unreasonable demands from any point of view except for our psychotic warmongers who want to run pipelines thru Syria. I guess Israel's WMD's are the whole reason Syria was collecting chemical weapons, aka the poor man's wmd.
PM smack down ( Did someone get a heads up that Larry Summers was going to be the selection by Obama as next Fed Chief - as soon as next week ) has been large . Both gold and silver pushed real hard , although silver seems to have stabilized today. While the PMs were hit hard on Thursday , oil didn't get hit !
ReplyDeleteLibya , Iraq and Afghanistan have been ash canned ! Sadly , no ne really cares . Syria and russia have been emboldened for sure. And they will continue to test the boundaries of how far they can go , how much they can get away with.
