The pilot, who was at the controls of Alitalia Flight AZA 60, spotted what may have been a drone about four to five miles southeast of the airport at an altitude of 1,500 feet while on final approach to Runway 31 Right at about 1:15 p.m.

This is getting a little creepy.
According to one estimate, since last year the Department of Homeland Security has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion bullets, mainly .40 caliber and 9mm.
DHS also purchased 2,700 Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicles (MRAP).
The Department of Homeland Security (through the U.S. Army Forces Command) recently retrofitted 2,717 of these ‘Mine Resistant Protected’ vehicles for service on the streets of the United States.
Although I’ve seen and read several online blurbs about this vehicle of late, I decided to dig slightly deeper and discover more about the vehicle itself.
The new DHS sanctioned ‘Street Sweeper’ (my own slang due to the gun ports) is built by Navistar Defense (NavistarDefense.com), a division within the Navistar organization. Under the Navistar umbrella are several other companies including International Trucks, IC Bus (they make school buses), Monaco RV (recreational vehicles), WorkHorse (they make chassis), MaxxForce (diesel engines), and Navistar Financial (the money arm of the company).

DHS even released a video on their newly purchased MRAPs.
The MRAP featured in this video is was in Albuquerque, New Mexico for Law Enforcement Day which was held at a local area Target Store. This MRAP is stationed in El Paso, Texas at The Homeland Security Investigations Office. MRAP is a Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicle.

On February 20, 2013, the Tucson, Arizona, City Council passed a resolution allowing the U.S. Air Force to “make appropriate decisions when balancing National Security and community needs when it comes to their existing and future military mission and assignments.”

In other words, the resolution allows the military to reject decisions made by the people of Tucson.
The resolution is posted on the Tucson government website (as of this writing) and further states that it “is necessary for the preservation of the peace, health and safety of the City of Tucson that this Resolution become immediately effective, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.”

In short, the Council has imposed what for all practical purposes is a declaration of martial law on the residents of Tucson.
According to the Military Law Dictionary, “Martial law is defined as the imposition of military rule over a particular region on an emergency basis” and the privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus is routinely denied during its tenure.
The resolution does not, however, implement full-blown martial law but rather a limited version that permits the Pentagon to decide what municipal laws it will obey when dealing with civilians.
The public was not allowed to voice its opposition and Council members were not permitted to discuss the resolution, as noted by the meeting notice and agenda posted on the city government website.
“Matters listed under the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion and one vote,” the agenda states. “There will be no separate discussion of these items. If discussion is desired by members of the governing body, that item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and will be considered separately.”
The Department of Defense initially made the power grab in response to civilian complaints about military flights over the city.
“This resolution will allow DM to increase by at least two-fold or more, the number of overflights of the very densely populated midtown Tucson, and allow round-the-clock overflights, and the introduction of whatever aircraft they wish, in whatever numbers they wish…. including the hearing-damaging accident-waiting-to-happen-experimental F-35!” Occupied Tucson Citizen reported.
“The use of the term ‘emergency’ is particularly despicable! In this case, it is not even stated what constitutes the so-called “emergency”, but is obviously being used to get around the fact that it was passed in great haste and secrecy, so as not to alert citizens of how they are being shafted!”

The United Nations is scheduled to hold a final meeting on their Small Arms Treaty this month in New York City. The treaty has been marketed as a way to keep weapons out of the hands of dictators and terrorists, but it is an international attack on private gun ownership and will essentially regulate our Second Amendment rights. It supposedly establishes “common international standards for the import, export, and transfer of conventional arms.” The problem is, civilian firearms are included in its scope.
And furthermore, the U.N.'s Coordinating Action on Small Arms says the arms trade must be regulated “in ways that would … minimize the misuse of legally owned weapons." How many criminals and terrorists do you know with “legally owned” weapons? They will never have any problem securing firearms; but you can be certain law-abiding citizens like you and me, who wish to own firearms for protection and recreation, will suffer. That is the U.N.’s stated goal, to at a very minimum create an international registry, and at worst, to disarm the American people.
It is interesting that these final “negotiations” come at a time of great debate about gun rights, and in a country that guarantees such freedoms under our Constitution.
Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) and 50 other Senators have expressed grave concern about the treaty in a letter to President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. They wrote, “As the treaty process continues, we strongly encourage your administration…to uphold our country’s constitutional protections of civilian firearms ownership…As members of the United States Senate, we will oppose the ratification of any Arms Trade Treaty that falls short of this standard. Our country’s sovereignty and the rights of American citizens must not be infringed upon by the United Nations. Our firearm freedoms are not negotiable.”
Obama told Sarah Brady (from the Brady Campaign), "I just want you to know that we are working on [gun control].  We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar."
That is probably why during the election, Obama laid low on the U.N. negotiations and everything stalled. But miraculously, hours after he was re-elected, Obama placed a late night call to the U.S. delegation and told them to vote “yes” on the treaty. And that is when the U.N. General Assembly’s meeting of the First Committee on Disarmament called for the new round of talks beginning March 18th. Given his stance on gun control and now in the shadow of Sandy Hook, the Obama administration is almost certain to sign it, which will send it to the Senate for ratification.
The Second Amendment is under severe attack by our own citizens, and now member of the United Nations are going to enter our country and debate how best to take away our rights. The goal of the treaty is to control the “manufacture, control, trafficking, circulation, brokering and trade, as well as tracing, finance, collection and destruction of small arms and light weapons.” And because the phrase “in all aspects” appears nearly 40 times in the document, that means the United Nations will control purchases and possession of all firearms, and those not surrendered to the U.N. will be tracked and seized. The treaty will:
·         Enact tougher licensing requirements, making it almost impossible for you, an individual, to own a firearm
·         Require the government to confiscate firearms owned by individuals
·         Place further restrictions on the sale of arms
·         Create an international gun registry
·         Give foreign nations access to your personal data
President Obama is fully in support of this, and if we do not notify Congress and support Senator Moran and others who want to preserve our Constitutional rights. S. 2205 and H.R. 5846, the Second Amendment Sovereignty Act of 2012, must be passed in the House and the Senate to ensure our Second Amendment rights and the sovereignty of the United States are safe. These bills are meant to be a safety net if for any reason, the Senate ratifies the Treaty early next year, or an anti-gun President like Obama passes an Executive Order. We must protect our rights under the Constitution.
The U.S. is the world’s largest arms trader, accounting for more than 40 percent of global conventional arms transfers. That is why the Small Arms Treaty is a treaty against America. The U.N.’s ultimate goal is to make America weaker and more vulnerable without armed citizens on the watch against tyranny. Also, within the language of regulating us to death and gun registries is that tiny little question of, just who qualified as a “terrorist” or a “radical regime?” Is someone who disagrees with the government? Is it someone against one world government? Is it a member of the military? Is it a conservative?

Is the United Nations now going to determine whether we can support resistance movements around the world and aid allies, such as Israel? Will they tell us our involvement is a “misuse” of arms?
There is no alternative, and we must act quickly. Stop the U.N. from meddling in our Constitution, save our right to bear arms, and keep America free from international control.

Seattle Becomes Next City to Use Crime Prediction Software

Seattle has become the next city to start using crime prediction software. Mayor Mike McGinn and Police Chief John Diaz announced that two precincts in the Southwest and East will begin using the software known as PREDPOL, short for “predictive policing.”
“The predictive policing software is estimated to be twice as effective as a human data analyst working from the same information. It’s all part of our effort to build an agile, flexible and innovative police department that provides the best service possible to the public,” said Diaz.
The program consists of a mathematical algorithm similar to the one used in earthquake prediction. Sociological information about criminal behavior and five years’ worth of past crime data is compiled to predict when and where a future crime will likely take place, down to a 500-square-foot area.
“This technology will allow us to be proactive rather than reactive in responding to crime; this investment, along with our existing hot spot policing work, will help us to fulfill the commitments we made in the ’20/20′ plan to use data in deploying our officers to make our streets safer,” said McGinn during a recent news conference.
As soon as April, police plan to roll out the software to every precinct in the city. Civil liberties advocates have already questioned if the software has the ability to collect data on specific individuals.
“We have no plans to move anywhere close to the individual. You’ll – rightly – run into a variety of Constitutional problems almost immediately,” said PREDPOL’s Director of Government Relations and Strategy Ryan Coonerty.
In light of Seattle’s secret participation in a pilot program for TrapWire, a CCTV surveillance system that recognizes people from their walk and face, many residents don’t trust Seattle Police, who have recently been under federal investigation for questionable police tactics.

Other recent surveillance technologies in the city, such as the 30 Department of Homeland Security-funded surveillance cameras on Seattle’s popular waterfront area, which were caught pointing inward, not towards the coast line like intended, have caused a backlash from Seattle residents.
Just last month, police in Tacoma, Wash. received federal funding for the same crime prediction software. PREDPOL also says it is in talks with police in over 200 cities worldwide that want to use the software.
