GOHSEP Says Butane “No Threat”
 NOVEMBER 26, 2012

Over a million barrels of it.

And (by dowsing rod?) they claim the sinkhole will only expand to the west . . . away from the butane mega-load. Just to ally fears here is their statement from their Frequently Asked Questions page -

Crosstex moved the butane 1,000 feet. Woo-Woo!

Sinkhole News from Blogs

” . . . evidence has now surfaced that the Louisiana sinkhole has grown to over eight acres with “ridiculous” amounts of oil outside the hole. . . “
“The uncontrollable and irreparable hole continues to grow. Dangerous chemicals are being released. Seismic activity rocks the area.”
Minor earthquakes are being reported in the immediate area of the sinkhole, but USGS EarthQuake Monitoring System is reporting Earthquakes from the Gulf of Mexico straight up the New Madrid Fault Line as far north as The Great Lakes. To put this in laymans terms, this is a massive disaster waiting to happen. It will effect not only the immediate area surrounding the sink hole, but devastation from the Gulf of Mexico all the way to The Great Lakes. Some may consider that to be an alarmists statement. It is!! It’s meant to help keep people aware, to warn them to get prepared.

COMMENT that says a LOT!  “…none of us probably know what we are talking about…because the “professional” geologists are lying through their teeth about the complexity, danger and potential outcomes of the oil/gas filled series of salt-domes and sinkholes in that area….!”

Question: What Happens When the Sinkhole Freezes?

Question: What Happens When the Sinkhole Freezes?
 NOVEMBER 25, 2012 BY FLYINGCUTTLEFISH
Nov. 24 -  WAFB – Overnight freeze warning in some Louisiana parishes

The National Weather Service calls an overnight freeze warning across south Mississippi and in some Louisiana parishes north of Lake Pontchartrain.

It says people should expect four to five hours of temperatures that can kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, as clear skies, light winds and dry air cover the area. Animals should also get extra protection.

The intense cold was predicted to start after midnight and continue until 7 a.m. – an hour or two after sunrise.

In Mississippi, the warning covers Wilkinson to Walthall counties and Pearl River to George counties, continuing south almost to the Gulf and north into Perry, Green and Wayne counties. Forecasters say the exception will be places on the coast.

In Louisiana, it affects St. Helena, Washington, St. Tammany, and Tangipahoa parishes.

Should cold weather hit Assumption Parish what would happen the the geyser of oil shooting out in the middle of the sinkhole?
What would happen to methane if it couldn’t easily bubble up?
What happens to hydrogen sulfide when it freezes? [ Freezing Point @ 1 atm. :     -121.9° F ]
Can the venting equipment and monitors all work in freezing weather?
Do they put out smudge pots like in an orchard? Will whole sinkhole catch on fire if they do?
Questions and more questions.

Sinkhole area quaked, dome collapsed more

The Examiner – Sinkhole area quaked, dome collapsed more as oil drilling reached 12,349 feet
The Bayou Corne sinkhole area recorded earthquakes mid-week possibly relate to both the further collapse of Napoleonville Salt Dome, according to officials, and to oil drilling reaching 12,340 feet in the Napoleonville Project as reported by an oil company in a press release Thursday. . . .

Gas and/or ‘fluid’ moving below sinkhole suspected of causing new tremors
 NOVEMBER 24, 2012
From- ENE-News – Gas and/or ‘fluid’ moving below giant Louisiana sinkhole suspected of causing new tremors

Dr. Will Pettitt, Principal Geophysicist at Itasca Consulting Group, has reviewed the seismic data recorded overnight on November 20/21. Long-period seismic tremors and micro-earthquakes have been observed, similar to those defined previously by Dr. Steve Horton of CERI/USGS, and recorded mainly on station LA08 closest to the sinkhole. The long-period seismic tremors are postulated to be caused by gas and/or fluid movements through the rock collapse zone below the sinkhole on the edge of the salt dome. . . .
