The photo, tweeted by Romney’s Ohio communications director, Christopher Maloney, shows Obama and three students all a little confused about how to spell the state’s name, with Obama holding his hands up in what seems to be an “H” and as the third letter.
Team Romney calls out Obama for misspelling 'Ohio' at campaign stop

President Obama needed a do-over to spell “Ohio” correctly on the campus of Ohio State University this week.
Although Obama and several students at a campaign stop Tuesday morning at Sloopy’s Diner on the campus of OSU tweeted out photos of the president correctly posing as the “I” in Ohio, another student supplied a photo of a spelling mishap to Mitt Romney’s campaign.

“A word of advice to @BarackObama: It's ‘O-H-I-O’ that has 18 electoral votes, not 'O-I-H-O,’ ” Maloney tweeted.

Pre-Crime Cameras For RNC In Tampa
‘Behavior recognition’ surveillance system will remain in place after convention ends

The Tampa Police Department will deploy dozens of ‘behavior recognition’ surveillance cameras at the Republican National Convention later this month, with the cameras remaining in place and more being added after the event finishes.

“The police department in Tampa, FL, is deploying behavioral recognition software from BRS Labs on dozens of the video cameras that will provide round-the-clock surveillance at many of the venues where the GOP national convention will take place August 27-30,” reports Government Security News.
The cameras work by using a software program called AISight 3.0, which is pre-programmed to acknowledge what behaviors are considered “normal” and then report any “suspicious activity” if it is spotted to police headquarters.
Equipped with the ability to track up to 150 suspects at a time, the cameras build up a “memory” of suspicious behavior to determine what constitutes potential criminal activity.
Critics have labeled the surveillance system one step away from “pre-crime,” the technology inextricably linked with the 2002 science fiction film Minority Report starring Tom Cruise, based on the short story by Philip K. Dick. The movie depicts a ruthless police state that employs psychics called “precogs” to apprehend criminals before crimes occur.
However, instead of being removed after the RNC concludes, more behavior recognition cameras will be added to keep tabs on the general public. BRS Labs president John Frazzini told GSN that once the convention is over, Tampa police will continue to deploy the technology “in an expanded footprint.”
This again emphasizes how invasive surveillance technologies are justified under the pretext of “national security events” and yet once the event is over, another permanent lurch towards an Orwellian society has been accomplished.
Although Frazzini refused to confirm whether the cameras would also be used at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC, “Frazzini did point out nonetheless that he was standing in a parking lot in Charlotte, NC, while conducting the telephone interview with GSN,” meaning the same system will almost certainly be in operation at the DNC.
Preparations for the RNC in Tampa as a “national security event” have been long in the making. As we reported back in July, garbage collectors have been trained to spot terrorists and other suspicious activity on their routes as part of a program dubbed ‘Waste Watch’.
Authorities are increasingly turning to pre-crime methods of surveillance in order to reduce the need for human intelligence and eliminate the requirement for camera footage to be watched by employees in real time.
BRS Labs recently announced that a total of 288 ‘pre-crime’ cameras will be installed across 12 transport hubs in San Francisco.
Law enforcement agencies in Washington D.C. are already using a software database developed by the University of Pennsylvania that they claim can predict when crimes will be committed and who will commit them, before they actually happen.
Other forms of pre-crime technology in use or under development include neurological brain scanners that can read people’s intentions before they act, thus detecting whether or not a person has “hostile intent”.
Pre-crime technology is also being rolled out in airports and other public venues in order to identify suspect travelers and single them out for interrogations. This face-scanning system “successfully discriminates between truth and lies in about two-thirds of cases,” which equates to little more accuracy than chance alone, making it even less reliable than the notorious polygraph test, which has been widely discredited and is habitually inaccurate.
As we have previously documented, the Department of Homeland Security’s FAST program is based around similar technology that professes to detect “malintent” by means of pre-crime interrogations and physiological scans.

Supporters Fear Facebook Marine Being ‘Disappeared’
Brandon Raub forcibly transferred to psychiatric facility 3 hours away from legal team, family

Supporters of Brandon Raub – the man kidnapped by police and committed to a mental institution for his political posts on Facebook – fear the former Marine is being ‘disappeared’ by authorities after he was forcibly transferred to a psychiatric facility more than three hours away from his family and legal team.

Raub, a former veteran of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, was involuntarily detained for psychiatric questioning last week by authorities in Virginia’s Chesterfield County for leaving anti-establishment messages on Facebook which questioned the official story behind 9/11 and referred to corruption within the U.S. government. The FBI claims Raub’s posts were “terrorist in nature.”
Raub is being held against his will despite not being charged with any crime under a state law that allows people to be temporarily committed for a period of 30 days.
Lawyers working for the Rutherford Institute attempted to file an emergency motion to prevent Raub from being transferred to a psychiatric institution more than three hours away from his friends, family, and legal team, but the motion was denied by Special Justice Walter Douglass Stokes.
“(Raub) is being transferred from John Randolph Psychiatric Medical Hospital in Hopewell to the Veterans Hospital in Salem, Va., on the other side of the state,” reports the Rutherford Institute website.
After speaking with Brandon’s brother, Brent Raub, supporter Brian Smith shared concerns amongst those following the case that the former Marine is being ‘disappeared’ by the government as controversy surrounding the incident continues to snowball.
“It would seem that in the government’s infinite wisdom, especially in this time of obscenely massive deficits, that they are going to send him to a Veteran’s Administration Medical Center. That doesn’t sound too bad now does it? How about this then. The hospital that they are sending him to is NOT the one about eight miles away from his home in Richmond. But is instead on the other side of the Commonwealth of Virginia in Roanoke!” writes Smith.“One question…. Why? This makes absolutely no sense when you consider that since he was “arrested” or “committed” in Chesterfield, that this is the Court of record, and the Court that is SUPPOSED to hear his case at every motion and hearing! Why are they trying to take him so far away from his home. It’s almost like they are trying to make him disappear. Oh, no. Not our benevolent nanny state government. Never.”
Smith added that if more people don’t come to Raub’s aid in publicizing his mistreatment, authorities are more likely to “make him disappear or to “zombify Brandon”.
Lawyers are continuing their efforts to secure Raub’s release on the basis that his speech is protected under the First Amendment and that his detention was conducted unlawfully.
“This is not how justice in America is supposed to work—with Americans being arrested for doing nothing more than exercising their First Amendment rights, forced to undergo psychological evaluations, detained against their will and isolated from their family, friends and attorneys. This is a scary new chapter in our history,” said John W. Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute. “Brandon Raub is no different from the majority of Americans who use their private Facebook pages to post a variety of content, ranging from song lyrics and political hyperbole to trash talking their neighbors, friends and government leaders.”
Critics have pointed to Raub’s treatment as an example of how the government is targeting free speech by labeling those who question authority as mentally ill, similar to how secret police in the former Soviet union sent dissidents to psikhushkas to isolate them, discredit their ideas and politically brainwash them.
Raub’s calm and rational response to being kidnapped and committed discredits claims by the government that he represents a danger.
Commenting from hospital, Raub said, “It’s ironic, I was considering re-enlisting, I’ve really enjoyed the six years I spent as a reserve and the two and a half years I spent on active duty.”
“I’ve been very open with the things I’ve had to say on my wall on Facebook. It’s interesting to me that the Government is watching Facebook in the first place. That ought to raise some eyebrows and cause some good American citizens some concern,” he added.
Facebook pages in support of Raub have surged in popularity as the case serves to re-iterate the painful reminder that America is fast turning into a police state where people who express anti-establishment opinions are treated as thought criminals and domestic extremists.

Man Kicked Off Flight Over Anti-TSA Shirt
Questioning authority is a suspicious activity

A man and his wife were treated as potential terrorists and kicked off a Delta Airlines flight over a satirical T-shirt because it made passengers and employees feel “very uncomfortable”.

Writing on his blog, Arijit Guha describes how he was flying out of Buffalo-Niagara Airport after attending his wife’s grandfather’s funeral. Having passed through security without a problem, Guha was approached by a Delta agent who informed him that his attire was making passengers nervous.
The t-shirt features a TSA logo along with text that satirizes the agency’s paranoid and overbearing approach to airport security.
“I was then questioned by TSA about the significance and meaning of the shirt,” writes Guha. “I politely explained that it was “mocking the security theater charade and over-reactions to terrorism by the general public — both of which we’re seeing right now, ironically.” The agents inquired as to the meaning of the term “ZOMG” and who it was that I thought was “gonna kill us all.” As best I could tell, they seemed to find my explanation that I didn’t think anyone would be killing us all and that I was poking fun at overwrought, irrational fears exhibited by certain members of the flying public to be satisfactory. And moreover, they clearly deemed my shirt to be no legitimate threat.”
Having been told by Delta agents that him and his wife could take the flight only if they submitted to another search of their belongings and if he removed the t-shirt, Guha agreed, but as he was boarding the plane he was pulled aside yet again by a Delta supervisor accompanied by three TSA agents as well as multiple Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority transit police.
“I was questioned some more and my wife was also pulled out of line for additional questioning and screening. Our bags were searched, my shirt was photographed, we were asked multiple questions about the cause of our visit, how often we make it to western NY, and our drivers’ license numbers were taken and radioed in for what seemed to be a quick background check,” writes Guha.
Despite having their belongings screened numerous times, Guha and his wife were still eventually barred from taking the flight after the pilot insisted their presence would cause consternation amongst other passengers.
Incredulous, Guha demanded to know why he was not allowed to take the flight, to which a Delta official responded, “Just use your imagination.”
Guha writes that his actions in being willing to “question authority” led officials to make the leap of logic in surmising that he was a potential terrorist.
“Why even bother with the bloated security apparatus — since Delta pilots have discretion to kick off passengers who’ve passed multiple checks, after all?” asks Guha.
After being booted from the flight, Guha and his wife were subjected to even more intense interrogation, with transit police demanding to know where Guha’s brother lived because he had originally purchased the t-shirt as a gift.
“You had to think about that one. How come?,” she asked. I explained he recently moved. “Where’d he move from?” “Michigan,” I respond. “Michigan, what’s that?,” she says. At this point, the main TSA agent who’d questioned me earlier interjected: “He said ‘Michigan’.” Unable to withhold my snark, I responded with an eye-rolling sneer: “You’ve never heard of Michigan?”
“This response did not please her partner, a transit cop named Mark. Mark grabbed his walkie-talkie and alerted his supervisor and proceeded to request that he be granted permission to question me further in a private room. His justification?: “First he hesitated, then he gave a stupid answer.” Michigan, my friends, is a stupid answer.”Guha also states that the reason given by a Buffalo-Niagara transit police officer for subjecting him to extra interrogation was because “He looks foreign.”According to the police, it was also suspicious that Guha’s wife did not share his surname.“And she’s your wife? How long have you been married? And she refused to take your name? “WHY wouldn’t she?” the cops asked Guha. After being searched yet again, this time with the aid of a drug-sniffing dog, Guha was told by cops that another reason for him being treated as a potential terrorist was the fact that he opted out of a naked body scan.Guha was eventually told he would be put on a flight at 7am the next morning and was left to find his own accommodation.“But the larger question remains: why’d this happen? Clearly, the problem originates with the paranoid minds of my fellow passengers who misconstrued a shirt mocking the overwrought security process as a terrorist threat,” writes Guha.
