Radioactive contamination is ruining Japanese export. More and more products are rejected by the world. However, it shows your government is still trying to save your life.
United States government rejected importing beef from Japan for radioactive contamination.
According to Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, US has been stopping the import of beef for foot and mouth disease since 2 years ago.
Because foot and mouth disease case is not reported anymore, US was supposed to restart the import of Japanese beef as of 8/18/2012.
However, American government suddenly asked Japanese government for an explanation about the safety of beef on 8/15/2012. American government is concerned about radioactive contamination of beef. They postponed to restart import until they confirm the safety of Japanese beef.
