Fukushima updates - September 7 , 2013....Rector 3 RPV shows temp rise abnormally - Tepco gives no reason.... Ground water shows high level of contamination due to radiation - previously thought to be clean and thus safe to pump into the Pacific as part of bypass plan - now what ? Since Tepco has lied time and time again ( and going forward with their remediation efforts are based on believing that what they say is accurate ) , how can anyone trust Tepco with their ground water solutions , let alone the critical work related to Unit four's spent fuel ?

Tepco “There’s always water flowing in the drain from the leaked tank area to the Pacific”

In the press conference of 9/4/2013, Tepco’s spokesman commented water is always flowing in the drain to the Pacific.
The drain runs around the tank area, which experienced the 300m3 leakage. Fukushima Diary confirmed it’s directly connected to the Pacific without any purification facilities etc..
From their announcement, 300m3 of leakage started at least this July. The leaked water was flowing in the drain to the Pacific.
They don’t plan to dam the drain either.

Fukushima fishery cooperatives to restart test fishing for sale

Having no effect of contaminated water seen in the seawater by the test of Fukushima prefectural government, Fukushima fishery cooperatives decided to restart the test fishing in the end of September.
They commented they are going to strengthen the tests on seawater and marine products.
The products will be distributed for sale.

Tepco to discharge bypass groundwater to “outside” of Fukushima plant port

In order to reduce the groundwater volume to treat, Tepco is planning to pump up groundwater before it flows to the plant buildings and discharge it to the Pacific, which is called “Groundwater bypass”. The “bypassed” water will not be filtered.
From their plan published on 8/29/2013, Tepco is planning to discharge it to the outside of the plant port.
The reason is not announced.
Currently Tepco is seeking the way of obtaining the approval from the local fishery cooperatives.

Tepco “Groundwater moves at 10cm/day” → Tepco’s own past data shows “Groundwater moves at 260cm/day”

After 300m3 of leakage, Tritium density was observed to be as double as before in the well downstream of groundwater, which strongly suggests the possibility that the leaked water sank underground and moved by groundwater.
Tepco is denying this possibility based on the assumption that groundwater moves at 10 cm / day (very slow).
However, on their own report published on 8/23/2013, they analyze groundwater moves at 259.2 cm / day, which contradicts their own statement.
In the press conference of 9/6/2013, Tepco’s spokesman stated they need to check the relation of facts.

Temperature abnormally rose in reactor3 pressure vessel

According to Tepco, the temperature of the bottom of reactor3 pressure vessel rose up on 9/6/2013.
From their data, the temperature suddenly increased by approx. 1℃. It had been stable until then, and it’s been also stable after the increase.
Tepco made no explanation about this.
