US lapdogs the UK , Germany and France go along with Embassy closing charade ! Interestingly , only their Embassies in Yemen will close for up to several days - which is logical for a so called Yemen sourced Al Qaeda threat.... Makes you wonder why the US is closing Embassies in not just Yemen , but also Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Mauritania, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and the United Arab Emirates

( Really odd to hear a warning a so called terrorist team has been selected and  is in place and major terror acts loom ? If the team has been selected and is in place , isn't it likely the source knows where the team is located - or else how would the source know that fact is true ?   )

The terror threat prompting the U.S. government to close nearly two dozen embassies and consulates Sunday is the most specific, credible threat information in years, CBS News senior correspondent John Miller reports.
Intelligence officers have reporting from a reliable source that a major plot is under way and that the team to carry it out has been selected and is in place, Miller reports. The specificity ends there.
What authorities don't have is the date, the timing or the target of the attack, which is why they have taken such an approach to warning potential targets, Miller reports.

The British, German and French embassies in Yemen will be closed over 'increased security concerns', the European countries have announced. They blamed an 'increased threat' from al-Qaeda.
France will close its embassy in Yemen for several days, while Germany and Britain will close theirs for two days on Sunday and Monday.
Previously the French Foreign Ministry has said that the Embassy would only be shut on Sunday.
"We are informed directly and indirectly of threats concerning our installations overseas and even our nationals, threats coming from al-Qaida," the French President Hollande said Saturday.
"The decision was made for security reasons because of a threat that was considered elevated," a spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry said.
Germany also warned its citizens from traveling to the country and that the situation there "is uncertain in the future".
The British embassy in Yemen will close temporarily after escalating violence and terrorist threats, the Foreign Office said Friday. While the Embassy will operate with an “essential staff,” all other British citizens were advised to leave Yemen.
The British announced the precautionary measures after the United States issued a worldwide travel alert, citing the intelligence indicating al-Qaeda terrorists may be planning attack somewhere in the Middle East or Africa.
“There is a high threat from terrorism throughout Yemen,” the Foreign Office said in a statement. “[We] advise against all travel to Yemen and strongly urge British nationals to leave now.”
“If you don’t leave the country now while commercial carriers are still flying it is extremely unlikely that the British government will be able to evacuate you or provide consular assistance,” the statement added.“There is a high threat from terrorism throughout Yemen. Terrorists continue to threaten further attacks. Be particularly vigilant during Ramadan, when tensions could be heightened.”
The threat did not identify a specific target but applied more broadly to Western interests in the region, US security sources told Reuters. Al-Qaeda’s affiliate group in the Arabian Peninsula, known as AQAP, is reported to be behind the reported plans.
“The threat appears to be much worse than it has in a long time,” an unnamed Yemeni official told CNN. Sources indicated that an attack was in the final planning stages as the final days of Ramadan, the Muslim holiday, are approaching.
“Current information suggest that’s Al Qaeda and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks in both the region and beyond, and that they may focus efforts to conduct attacks in the period between now and the end of August,” the US State Department’s travel alert warned.
The British Foreign Office, which announced the Sana’a embassy would be closed from August 4 to 5, is in close contact with US officials. Meanwhile, US embassies will be closed in Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Mauritania, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.

( So , terror hype to continue through August ? And why is the phony film still in the conversation at this late date ? )
U.S. officials are warning that a global terror threat from al Qaeda is 'very specific' and could last through August, as at least 22 embassies and consulates across the world prepare to shut down Sunday in fear of a possible attack.

'We’re not certain exactly where something might happen but it’s very specific as to when and it’s also very specific as to the fact that it is going to happen, so we have to be on alert everywhere,'  Rep. Peter King, chairman of the subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, told WINS-AM. He said the threat is the 'most specific' he's seen since the 9/11 attacks.
'There's very little doubt that something serious is being planned,' King told CNN. 'It's a potential series of attacks. It could be anywhere.'

The U.S. issued a global travel alert for American travelers on Friday after intercepting electronic communication among top al Qaeda operatives in Yemen regarding an attack in its final planning stages. The al Qaeda affiliate in Yemen has been linked to plots to blow up American-bound cargo and commercial flights, according to the New York Times.

If traveling outside the U.S., King said: 'I would let the American embassy know where you are. Basically check in and where you are and how long you plan to stay there and what your itinerary is.'

State Department officials said Thursday that they were taking action out of an 'abundance of caution' after receiving information the terror group was in the final stages of planning for an unspecified attack.

The terror group and its affiliates 'may focus efforts to conduct attacks in the period between now and the end of August,' the State Department said.

Spokeswoman Marie Harf cited information indicating a threat to U.S. facilities overseas and said some diplomatic facilities may stay closed for more than a day.

A source told CNN the preparations appeared to have increased in recent days with the approaching end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

A U.S. official noted it was unclear whether the plot would be directed at a target inside Yemen or elsewhere.
Those officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to speak publicly about the matter.
The British embassy in Yemen is to be closed on Sunday and Monday as 'a precautionary measure', the Foreign Office confirmed today.

The State Department issued a major warning last year informing American diplomatic facilities across the Muslim world about potential violence connected to the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Dozens of American installations were besieged by protest over an anti-Islam video made by an American resident.
