Shocking Videos Reveal Truth Behind Syrian “Freedom Fighters”
NATO-backed “pro-democracy” activists commit brutal atrocities

Despite the fact that parties on both sides of the conflict in Syria have been responsible for violence, the international NATO-aligned media has hyped often dubious accusations of Assad-sponsored massacres while virtually ignoring massacres, beheadings and other acts of brutality carried out by rebel insurgents.
Whereas the establishment media, particularly the likes of CNN and the London Guardian, have prostrated themselves as 24-hour rolling propaganda platforms for anonymous “activists” with Twitter accounts, showcasing unverified You Tube clips of alleged atrocities, equally disturbing footage of rebels committing acts of savagery have been buried.
In addition, it has come to light that many of the alleged “massacre” videos and other clips showing Syrians allegedly killed or injured by Assad’s forces that were broadcast globally by the mainstream media have been staged.
It’s time for some balance.
No one can deny that Bashar Al-Assad’s regime has been responsible for violence. But in failing to equally acknowledge the fact that NATO-backed rebels have also carried out innumerable atrocities is not only dishonest, it represents a deliberate effort by the press to manipulate the narrative of unfolding events in Syria as a one-sided war crime rather than the truth – which is the fact that Syria is in a state of civil war.
In throwing their military might behind Syrian rebels, in addition to foreign terrorists affiliated with Al-Qaeda, NATO powers are empowering a minority of extremist Wahabi thugs who are anti-freedom, anti-Christian, anti-Shia, anti-Sunni and who will stop at nothing to entrench their ideologically fanatical power base.
In greasing the skids for a Libya-style NATO military assault, the media has portrayed the rebels as freedom-loving democratic activists who are honorable victims of bloodshed. In reality, as the videos below illustrate, nothing could be further from the truth.
WARNING: Many of the following clips are graphic – viewer discretion is advised.
In this video, family members of slain children accuse Syrian rebels of committing the atrocity.
A civilian is hung from a tree by Syrian rebels, allegedly because he told UN monitors information the rebels didn’t want to be known.
A mentally ill man is beaten, hanged and then shot in the head by Syrian rebels who chant “Allahu Akbar.”

Pro-Assad activists who organized rallies in support of the government were kidnapped, tortured and killed by Syrian rebels.
In this video, bodies of soldiers killed by rebels are dumped into the Orontes River. The men chant “Allahu Akbar.” CNN whitewashed the story and claimed the jury was still out on the perpetrators, but the victim is clearly a pro-government activist judging by a translation of what is said in the clip.

In the clip above, Syrian rebels threaten the parents of a child that they will kill him unless ransom money is paid.
This clip shows rebels dragging the body of a soldier through the town of Yabrud near Damascus.
This clip shows the assassination of a policeman named Raed Aashour.
In this clip, Syrian opposition activists chant anti-Christian slogans. This is important given our previous report about how Syrian rebels ransacked Christian churches and desecrated places of worship.
Men crowd around the body of a dead civilian. The crowd is pushed back by men wearing the tristar French mandate flag. The crowd is comprised of FSA rebels who chant ‘takbeer’ – meaning ‘God is great.’
As part of its agenda to craft the phony narrative that opposition fighters are honorable freedom fighters who can do no wrong, the international media has all but blacklisted examples of rebel atrocities, while simultaneously hyping beyond all recognition far more dubious footage of alleged government massacres released by anonymous Twitter activists.
The clips below illustrate how Syrian “opposition activists” and rebels are staging fake massacre and death videos, as well as war propaganda – and how the corporate press is swallowing it up and regurgitating it without question.
Following the humiliating exposé of Syrian “activist” Danny Dayem, who was caught staging war propaganda as he begged for the United States and even Israel to launch a military intervention, one would hope that such manufactured trickery is less likely to be broadcast by the news media in future.
A video purported to show “Syrian troops beating detained protesters” was broadcast on global news networks including ABC News and Reuters. It later turned out that the clip actually showed Hezbollah members mistreating Lebanese Amal political party members in an incident that happened four years ago.
This video shows Syrian opposition activists staging fake deaths complete with fake blood and bad acting. The clip was later broadcast by Al Jazeera and presented as a genuine massacre.
This clip shows Syrian opposition activists laughing as they display fake wounds and prepare to pose as massacred victims.
This clip shows a man pretending to lie dead in an open coffin. He stages a miraculous recovery at the end of the video.
This man is presented as a dead “martyr” yet is clearly seen to be blinking throughout the video.
This clip shows a Syrian insurgent displaying his psychic abilities at pinpointing where a “bomb” will strike before it happens as he rants to the camera.
“Eyewitnesses” are caught on camera coordinating how to lie about casualties.
Rebels coach a girl on what to tell Al-Jazeera before congratulating themselves on the set-up.
As we have previously documented, there are also numerous video clips and photographs proving how the rebels are loyal to Al-Qaeda.
These video clips only scratch the surface when it comes to documenting the fact that Syrian rebels and their insurgent allies from abroad are about as far removed from their corporate media-generated persona as one could possibly imagine.
Far from representing the noble, religiously and culturally inclusive ideal of democratic freedom, by their very own actions and statements the rebels represent little more than a gang of bloodthirsty, extremist, mercenary thugs which western powers and mainstream media outlets – if their claim to support freedom in the middle east is to have any credibility – have no business in supporting.

‘Unity Talks’ Widen Rift Among Syrian Rebels
Some Factions Blast Cairo Meet as 'Conspiracy'
by Jason Ditz, July 03, 2012
A high profile meeting in Cairo was intended to bring Syria’s myriad opposition and rebel groups under a unified leadership to govern the country during a “transitional” phase following their ouster of the current regime. Instead, the meeting is reflecting and even widening the rifts that exist among the groups.
No agreement was made among the 250 participants in the conference, as the various groups couldn’t agree on whether or not to impose a Sunni theocracy on the nation or whether to back a foreign occupation.
Some factions within the Free Syrian Army (FSA), which was itself spearheading the conference, refused to take part, with Col. Saadeddine, a top FSA spokesman saying it played into Russia’s hand, while others said it was a “conspiracy.”
The inability of the rebels to reach any consensus will further complicate the Geneva Action Group for Syria’s plan, which rested on the assumption of two-party talks between rebels and regime and an unconditional ceasefire. Some rebel blocks have expressed support for this idea, while others have condemned the idea of negotiations on general principle.
and just wondering why did the US take so long for the face saving apology that Pakistan needed to allow supplies to flow again .......
After Clinton Apology, Pakistan to Reopen Supply Lines
No Fees for Transport, Pakistan Promises
by Jason Ditz, July 03, 2012
President Obama may have never directly apologized himself for the US attack on Pakistan in November which killed 24 Pakistani soldiers, but Secretary of State Hillary Clinton finally did today, and apparently that’s close enough for the Zardari government, which is reopening supply lines to occupied Afghanistan.
The supply route was closed almost immediately after the November killings, and US officials have said it has cost them an extra $100 million a month to send supplies through the more expensive northern route. Onlyyesterday the Pentagon was seeking more money for the war on these grounds.
Pakistan’s parliament initially conditioned the reopening of the border on an apology from Obama and the end to US drone strikes. The US ruled out both and then rejected a compromise deal for a transport fee as “price gouging.” Pakistan has promised not to bring back the fee, according to Clinton.
So in the end a nice cheap apology, given half a year after the fact, was enough to resolve the issue. This is likely to be enormously unpopular in Pakistan, where massive anti-US protests have become growingly common and opposition parties are positioning themselves as less pliable on the US issue for the upcoming elections.
and also on Pakistan - get your stuff and get out......
Pakistan to U.S.: You bet you’re sorry. Now get out.
The Obama administration’s internal deliberations over whether to apologize to Pakistan will make a fascinating chapter in a future Bob Woodward book.
On one side, we’ll probably hear from the members of the Defense Department camp who say: This is stupid. We had nothing to apologize for. The Pakistanis opened fire on our guys well inside the Afghan border, our aircraft did several low passes to dissuade their attack and they kept it up, so we were well within our rights to defend ourselves.
On the other side, we’ll probably hear from the White House and State Department camp saying: “Who cares? We just wanted Afghanistan to be over.” That is the side that finally won out.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s statement Tuesday reaffirms that more than anything else, President Obama’s central goal for the Afghan war is for it to end — yesterday. The official view seems to be that goal is worth the billions in military assistance; worth the swallowed pride; worth continuing to play patty-cake with an “ally” that harbors terrorists and backs proxies who attack Americans.
Pakistan had Washington’s arm twisted back and wasn’t going to let go until it got an “uncle.” The Pakistanis knew that without the ground supply routes, the Army’s “retrograde” from Afghanistan would have been a complex, costly nightmare. With the supply lines, logisticians can truck 10 years worth of supplies and equipment to ships in Karachi and transport them home. (Still not a walk in the park, but easier than the alternative.)
Pakistan says American war materiel is only allowed to travel south and out of Afghanistan, Clinton said: “Consistent with current practice, no lethal equipment will transit the [Ground Lines Of Communication] into Afghanistan except for equipping the ANSF.” It isn’t clear how or whether Pakistan will enforce this rule — whether it will inspect shipments to satisfy itself that nothing objectionable is getting through — but the message to the U.S. is unambiguous: Get your stuff and get out.
At this point, the U.S. seems only too happy to oblige.
Shi’ites Slaughtered: 63 Killed, 152 Wounded in Iraq Attacks
Tuesday: 63 Killed, 152 Wounded
by Margaret Griffis, July 03, 2012
The first major attacks against Shi’ite pilgrims observing Shabaniya occurred today in cities south of Baghdad. At least 63 people were killed and 152 more were wounded in those and other attacks.
The festival climaxes on Friday, the birth anniversary of Twelfth Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi, so more violence is possible in the coming days. The number of foreign pilgrims killed or wounded was not given. Also, due to the nature of the attacks, conflicting figures are likely.
Iraq has downplayed a surge in violence that has been noticeable for weeks. In June, some attacks were also directed at pilgrims observing a separate Shi’ite holiday but, as today, violence did not spare security and other civilian targets. Over 500 people werekilled last month.
At least 40 people were killed and 75 more were wounded in a truck bombing at aDiwaniya market that is close to a Shi’ite mosque where pilgrims had gathered. At least two security personnel failed to prevent the vegetable-laden truck bomb from reaching the market. Authorities suspect bribes may have been paid.
At a market in the outskirts of Karbala, six pilgrims were killed and at least 44 were wounded. Several of the injured are in critical condition. The first blast drew people to a second bomb. Security had been heightened ahead of the pilgrimage.
Near Buhriz, two security officers were killed and two more were wounded in a small arms attack. The bodies of two people who were shot in the head were found in a field. A bomb killed two civilians. Three military personnel were wounded in a blast yesterday.
Two bombs in Taji killed three people, including a policeman, and wounded 15 others.
An attack left one policeman dead and one wounded in Tuz Khormato.
In Mosul, the body of a woman who was shot to death was found. Gunmen killed a soldier. Another soldier was shot to death separately.
Gunmen killed a married couple at a shop in Kirkuk.
In Baghdad, one civilian was killed and five others were wounded at the Nida mosque.
A bomb in the Ghazaliya district wounded three civilians.
In Saidiya, a policeman was shot dead. A car bomb we defused.
Two policemen were wounded during clashes with smugglers in Sinjar.
Two gunmen were wounded as they attacked a county boardmember’s home in Hib Hib.

Afghan soldier opens fire on US troops
Five wounded in latest 'green on blue' attack just days after police officer shot and killed three British soldiers
An Afghan soldier has shot and wounded five US troops in easternAfghanistan, just days after an Afghan policeman killed three British soldiers in the south.
It is the latest in a string of attacks by Afghans on the foreign forces who are training them. The regular shootings are undermining morale in the critical mission to bolster the Afghan police and army as foreign troops head home.
"We have confirmed that the individual who opened fire was an ANA [Afghan National Army] member," said Martin Crighton, spokesman for the Nato-led coalition in Afghanistan.
The attacker escaped after opening fire early on Tuesday evening at a base in Sayed Abad district of eastern Wardak province, according to Shahidullah Shahid, a spokesman for the provincial governor. He had no further details on the man's age, name or background. Afghan and Nato officials are investigating the incident.
Twenty-six Nato soldiers have been killed in 19 such incidents this year, known as "green on blue" attacks by the military. Last year, 35 soldiers were killed in 21 attacks, Nato figures show.
The shootings have now become such a commonplace threat that some foreign units are watched by armed "guardian angels" from their own ranks – virtually unheard of just five years ago.
In 2007 and 2008 there were a combined total of four attacks and four deaths, according to Associated Press.
UK forces have been particularly badly hit this year; the latest attack on Sunday in Helmand province meant that nearly a quarter of British soldiers killed in Afghanistan in 2012 have died at the hands of the Afghan police and army.
Even elite units have not proved immune to the problem. An Afghan commando shot dead a US special forces soldier earlier this year, and Sunday's killer was from the Afghan National Civil Order Police, generally considered better trained, better disciplined and more prestigious than ordinary police.
Most attackers are killed, or flee their bases, like the soldier in Wardak, to blend into the local population or perhaps join the insurgents.
Sunday's attacker was wounded, but survived and was captured by British troops, giving them and the Afghan government a rare chance to question a perpetrator of the attacks.
Afghan forces also suffer from regular attacks from inside their own ranks, dubbed "green on green", although the government says it does not keep figures on such incidents.
The Taliban regularly claims responsibility for almost all such attacks, although some appear to be the work of sympathisers rather than infiltrators, or come about as a result of quarrels.
The Nato-led coalition argues that not all attacks are the work of the Taliban, and that "green on blue" killings are in part the result of personal disputes in an environment where most men are heavily armed.

War swept under and over the rug
Afghans have woven the scars of war into their textiles
This article originally appeared on Imprint.
As the U.S. prepares to draw down troops from Afghanistan this summer, what remains is a land of wounds left by Soviet, Taliban, and U.S. forces. Many scars are carved deep into the nation’s psyche, and some are woven into their textiles. War Rugs: The Nightmare of Modernism (Skira), by Enrico Mascelloni, chronicles the history of a genre of beautiful yet disturbing objects, which I have found frequently at New York flea markets. Afghan war rugs are produced in different tribal workshops and refugee camps to either commemorate or celebrate the battles that have for so long ravaged the nation. This tension between modernism (represented by mechanized warfare) and craftsmanship is the underpinning for Mascelloni’s overview.
But there is something unsettling here, and it’s not just the profusion of AK47s, grenades, tanks, missiles, and other deadly ordinance: Much reference is made to the marketing of these rugs as souvenirs and collectibles. “When you buy a war rug,” Mascelloni writes, “the only real certainty in its dating is your date of purchase.” For those interested in this charged form of visual commentary, the book is nonetheless illustrated with seductive artifacts. Still, when images of heavy weaponry show up in a decorative border or a repetitive textile pattern, it is reminiscent of a primitive, though static, video game interface.
