| Venizelos falls victim to yoghurt attack | |||||
| |||||
Yoghurt seems to be the name of the game in Greece these days, as more and more people are using said dairy product to express their bubbling contempt against any parliamentary representative they happen to come across. Finance minister and Pasok would-be leader Evangelos Venizelos was the latest “victim” of the yoghurt kamikazes, at the Pasok national convention on Saturday. An elderly citizen, who was using a crutch to help him walk, ambled up to Venizelos upon spotting him and according to reports, pelted him with yoghurt. The as yet unnamed citizen, claimed he was an active member of the Pasok party and wanted to complain to Venizelos about the fact that his pension had been slashed because of the mounting austerity measures facing the majority of Greeks. Venizelos, who was just about to take the stand at the convention, reacted calmly to the attack and left briefly in order to change his yoghurted garments. The elderly man was said to have previously verbally attacked Parliament head Filippos Petsalnikos. | |||||
